Carlotta J. Auter

Carlotta J. (Blair) Auter, age 82 of Covington, IN, passed away at 11:45 p.m. on Monday, February 27, 2023 at the Waters of Covington surrounded by her loving family. Carlotta was born on December 30, 1940 in Cayuga, IN. She was the daughter of Louis John and Sarah Evelyn (Barker) Blair. Carlotta was a 1958 graduate of Covington High School. She was a life-long resident of Covington. Carlotta married Fredrick “Fred” Saul Auter at the Covington Christian Church on August 17, 1958 and he survives. Carlotta taught at the Shawnee Learning Center. During that time, she also drove a bus for the Covington High School Athletic department. She later waited tables at some local restaurants. Carlotta had a born-again experience with the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved her family and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities. Carlotta enjoyed watching basketball, Nascar, the Indianpolis Colts, and the cooking channel. Surviving with her husband, Fred, are: Son, Tim Auter (wife: Marla) of Covington, IN; Daughter Martella Pickering (husband: Chuck) of Westville, IL; 3 grandchildren, Chase Pickering (Joanna), Shawna High (Kory), Sarah Pickering (Josh); 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild Carlotta was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Susan Flick; and brother, Jerry Blair A private family graveside service was held at Mount Hope Cemetery with son Tim Auter officiating.
