Carolyn J. (Bazan) High, age 72 of Attica, IN, went to be with the Lord at 5:13 a.m. on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at IU Health Arnett after a long fought battle with cancer.
Carolyn was born on August 18, 1948 in East Chicago, IN. She was the daughter of Stan and Bernice (Kolodziej) Bazan. Carolyn was a 1966 graduate of East Chicago Roosevelt High School and later attended Indiana University Calumet. She married Jerry High on September 1, 1978 in Crown Point, IN and he survives.
Carolyn worked at Union Tank Car in East Chicago, IN. She worked as a court reporter in Crown Point, IN courts. Carolyn later retired from the Warren County Circuit Court.
Carolyn was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Attica, IN. Carolyn loved horses and enjoyed spending time with her sons and grandchildren. She enjoyed sporting events and anything they were involved in.
Surviving with her husband, Jerry, are,
2 sons, Michael T. High (Kimberly) of Weeki Wachee, FL, stationed at the MacDill Airforce Base, serving in the Marine Corps. and Philip E. High of rural Pine Village, IN;
Brother and sister-in-law, Phillip High Jr. (Shirley) of Williamsport, IN;
1 sister-in-law, Shelley Fenters of Lafayette, IN;
2 grandchildren, Hudson High and Allison High;
2 step-grandchildren, Jordan Rose and Sara Neary;
2 step-great-grandchildren, Declan Rose and Elowyn Rose
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
A private memorial mass will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church at a later date with Rev. David Rasner officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be made at www.gradyfuneralhome.com.
