Carol Frances (Hoskins) Winegardner

Williamsport- Carol Frances (Hoskins) Winegardner, age 72 of rural Williamsport went to be with the Lord at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, August 13, 2018, at Autumn Trace of Attica.

Carol was born in South Bend, Indiana on June 8, 1946. She was the daughter of Harold M. and Catherine M. (Stratton) Hoskins. Carol had lived in Niles, MI, moved to Warren County, lived in Lafayette, IN from 1967 until moving back to rural Williamsport, where she has resided since 1970. She was a 1964 graduate from Seeger Memorial High School. Carol married Paul Duane Winegardner on September 30, 1967 in Pence, IN. He preceded her in death on June 18, 2015.

Carol had worked in several offices at Purdue University, she then worked as a teachers aid at Warren Central Elementary School, and was in the Auditor’s office for many years in the Warren County Court House. Carol retired in 2011 from Genpact-Walgreens Accounting in Danville, IL.

Carol was a active member of Hickman Heights Christian Church, where she sang in the choir, was missions and Sunday School treasurer, and was Wee Worship & Sunday School teacher. She had served on Warren County Extension Homemakers, Jr Women’s Club, Democrat Women’s Organization, Jordan Cemetery Board, & 3^rd Street Investment Club. Carol enjoyed socializing with her friends & talking about her grandchildren. She enjoyed posting on Facebook.

Surviving are, 2 daughters, Anne Rhea (husband: Bret), of rural Williamsport, IN, Amy Johnson (husband: Andy) of West Des Moines, IA; 1 sister, Susan Miller, of Carmel, IN; and 5 grandchildren, Madeline Rhea, Natalie Rhea, Ayden Johnson, Audreyanna Johnson, and Aaron Johnson.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, and husband Paul Duane Winegardner.

Visitation will be at Hickman Heights Christian Church, 3291 N 100 E. Williamsport, IN on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral service will be at the Hickman Heights Christian Church on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Charles B. Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Jordan Cemetery, in Pence. Memorial contributions can be made to Hickman Heights Christian Church or Jordan Cemetery. Envelopes will be available at the church.
