Christina May Stutler

Perrysville

Christina May Stutler, age 79 of Perrysville, IN, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2024. 

 

Christina was born on December 19, 1944 in Danville, IL. She was the daughter of Floyd and Helen (Sprouls) Stutler. Christina was a lifelong resident of Perrysville. She was a 1962 graduate of Perrysville High School. Christina worked at GE in Danville, IL until they closed. They offered their employees schooling and Chris took that opportunity, graduating at the top of her class at Lakeview School of Nursing with her LPN license. She worked as an LPN at the Danville VA. 

 

Christina had attended Coal Branch Church early in life. She enjoyed canning and cooking and grew up helping her mother raise chickens. She loved her mother and brothers very much and caring for her mother and brothers later in life. She loved her little dog Jackie-Jo as well as Benji. Christina enjoyed John Deere collectibles and Ty Beanie Babies. She loved traveling and enjoyed playing softball for many years in West Lebanon. Christina loved to laugh and joke around. After retirement, Christina enjoyed playing the dulcimer. Every year Christina attended the Illiana Antique Power Show in Rainsville to watch her brother Jim, nephew Alan, and great-niece and great-nephew Daisy and Bobby ride tractors and trains. 

 

Surviving are:

Brother, Larry Gene Stutler;

Sister-in-law, Sue Stutler;

 Nephew, Alan Stutler, his wife Gretchen and their children Daisy & Bobby Stutler;

 Dear friends, Nancy Dean, Elaine Mitchell, Barb Bressner, and Dee Dee Plowman and their daughter Amya

Christina was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, James “Jim” Stutler and Harold “Shop” Stutler. 


A graveside service will be held at Hicks Cemetery in Perrysville on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Rod Andrews officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Danville VA.
