Clara June (Phelps) Thompson

Clara June (Phelps) Thompson, age 82 of West Lebanon, passed away at 5:50 a.m. on Monday, January 7, 2019 at Franciscan Health Lafayette East.  June was born on June 12, 1936 in Hedrick, IN. She was the daughter of Oris and Annie (Jones) Phelps. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1954. She later attended St. Elizabeth Medical Secretarial School in Danville, IL.  On August 21, 1955 she married Harold Dwain Thompson in Hedrick, IN. He preceded her in death on January 27, 2008. They moved back to the Warren County area in 1956. June worked as a medical secretary for Mercy Hospital in Champaign, IL. She later was a teacher’s aide at Warren Central Elementary. She attended the Hedrick Church of God. She enjoyed completing Search-a-Word books. Surviving are, 2 daughters, Vickie Miles (husband: Jim) of Missouri City, TX and Connie Foster (husband: Maurice) of Attica, IN; 1 sister, Phyllis Taylor of Lafayette, IN; 4 grandchildren, Adam Miles (wife: Lindsay), Andrea Tullos (husband: Jeff), Abbie Russell (husband: Ben), and Stacey Sharp (husband: Andrew); and 8 great-grandchildren, Bryan James Tullos, Kirby Scott Tullos, Mason Drew Tullos, Lacy Alyse Tullos, Scarlett Harper Vij, Sawyer Emmerson “Emme” Vij, Walter Gene Miles, and Hazel Elizabeth Lynn Miles. June was preceded in death by 1 brother, Lester, and 5 sisters, Letha, Hazel, Irene, Stella, and Louise.Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 P.M.  Funeral services will be in the chapel on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. with Travis Hamilton officiating.
