Cory Bruce Wesley, age 38 of Kramer, IN passed away on May 15, 2023 at Franciscan Health Lafayette. Cory was born on May 24, 1984 in Lafayette, IN. He was the son of Bruce Edward and Rhonda Mae (Dodds) Wesley. Cory was a lifelong resident of Kramer, IN. He was a 2002 graduate of Seeger High School. After graduating high school, he worked at the Attica IGA. He then worked at TMF Center in Williamsport. Cory worked at ThyssenKrupp Gerlach in Veedersburg, IN. He was currently working at TMF Center. Cory was baptized as a child at the Church of the Living Water. He was a self-taught blacksmith and made his own tools, including knives and an anvil. Cory was also self-taught in the art of flint knapping, making his own knives, jewelry, and arrowheads. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, and loved the outdoors, spending time on the river, and hunting mushrooms. Cory could make anything and he enjoyed teaching others his trades and creativeness. He enjoyed playing the guitar and cooking. Cory enjoyed demonstrating his blacksmithing and flint knapping at the Illiana Steam and Power Show that was held each year in Rainsville, IN. He loved his dog, Winchester, who would sleep by him at his side. Surviving are, Parents, Bruce and Rhonda Wesley of Kramer, IN; Brother, Cody Thomas Wesley (Amanda) of Williamsport, IN; Nieces & nephews, Reed Wesley, Abigail Wesley, Allison Wesley, and Ezra Wesley whom he was very close with and always shared popsicles with when they visited; Paternal grandfather, Millard Wesley of Kramer, IN; Numerous cousins and a special cousin who was like a brother, Clayton Quigley (Kayla); Several aunts and uncles Cory was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Ann (Gee) Wesley; maternal grandmother Norma Joyce Gregory Dodds and maternal grandfather, Leamon C. Dodds; and uncle, Thomas Gene Wesley. A graveside service will be at West Lebanon Cemetery on Thursday, May 18, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with uncle R.J. Smith officiating. Friends are invited to Cody & Amanda Wesley’s house following the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grady Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
