David Edwin Kaniewski, age 76 of Williamsport passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. David was born in Milford, IL on October 9, 1940 to Edwin and Rosalie (Cieminski) Kaniewski. He lived in Illinois until 1948 when the family moved to Warren County, IN. David attended Judyville Elementary School and Williamsport High School then served in the US Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He spent many hours working at his father’s sawmill and machine shop during his childhood years. David worked at Harrison Steel, Berger Steel, owned Kaniewski and Odle Trucking and Repair and later was president of Cryogenic Support Systems. David was a compassionate man whose life revolved around family and close friends. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed doing fish frys for the church congregation. He loved traveling with Judi in their RV and liked to work on cars and motorcycles. David was preceded in death by his parents; aunt, Pauline Cherry who was reared as his sister; cousin, Hank Kaniewski; and special friend, Larry Odle. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Judith (O’Mara) Kaniewski; sister, Marilyn O’Donnell and several cousins. Also surviving are his daughter, Michelle Seymour, and Denise Quebas, Michael Jensen and Dena Lucas. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Monday, June 26, 2017 from 5:00 until service time at 7:00 p.m. with full military honors immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Lebanon Trinity Presbyterian Church, A Mother’s Love Fund at the Warren County Community Foundation, or the Waters of Covington for the Activity Program.
