Delilah M. (Kennedy) Lucas, age 98 of Williamsport, IN died on Thursday, April 12, 2017 at the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Delilah was born on May 29, 1918 and was the daughter of Miles and Jessie (Keister) Kennedy, Sr. She attended West Lebanon High School. She married William Herman Lucas, Sr. on September 23, 1936 and he preceded her on June 1, 1986. Delilah worked on the family farm with her husband. She worked in the dietary department at the Williamsport Community Hospital and in the ER transporting patients. She was a member of Williamsport Christian Church where she was involved with the Junior Women’s Club and Secretary of the Church Board for many years. She was active in the hospital guild at Community Hospital and the volunteer hospital guild at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She was a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary Post #259 Williamsport. Delilah enjoyed cooking and raising a garden which she shared with friends Surviving are, children, William H. Lucas, Jr. (Linda) of Williamsport, IN, Steven A. Lucas of Newtown, IN, Dennis R. Lucas (Janet) of Georgetown, IL., Margery Glenn (Richard) of Otterbein, IN, Mary E. Collins Waling of Williamsport, IN, Edie M. Unekis of Williamsport, IN, Linda M. Spear (Paul) of Newton, IN, and Karen J. Hurd (Guye) of Mellott, IN; siblings, Betty Bennett and Shirley Borst, all of Williamsport, IN; 30 grandchildren; and several great and great-great-grandchildren. Delilah was preceded in death by her husband, William Lucas, Sr., son, David A. Lucas, 3 brothers, Harrison, Miles and Fred Kennedy, 3 sisters, Mary Shamp, Katherine Kinnear and Alta Wagner, and 4 grandchildren. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, April 15, 2017 from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Williams officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activities Department.
