Dinah L. (Beam) Karger

Dinah L. (Beam) Karger, age 75 of Lafayette, IN went to be with the Lord at 10:12 a.m. on Friday, April 6, 2018 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.   Dinah was born in Frankfort, IN on September 19, 1942. She was the daughter of Leland R. and Mary E. (Spencer) Beam. She attended James Marshall High School, Rossville High School, and Lafayette High School. She married James S. Karger on August 7, 1971 in Lafayette, IN and he preceded her on September 11, 1995. She lived in Lafayette most of her life and worked as a beautician.   Dinah was spiritual and faithful to the Lord. She loved her Siamese cat, Mae Ling. She enjoyed fitness and dancing. She also enjoyed reading, diet coke and adult coloring. She loved to spend time with her family.   Surviving are, children, Karen K. Beard of Lafayette, IN, “Hap” James S. Karger, Jr. (Brenda) of Lafayette, IN, and Phillip Dean Karger (Peggy) of West Lafayette, IN; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.  Dinah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her first born daughter, Cindy Helton, son-in-law, David Helton, and sister, Ariel Irons.   Visitation will be on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Dayton United Methodist Church, 7201 Wesleyan Drive, Dayton, IN 47941 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Eric Schneider officiating. Interment will follow at Rest Haven Cemetery in Lafayette, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dayton United Methodist Church.
