Donald "Don" Clinton Lape

Donald Clinton “Don” Lape, age 87 of West Lebanon, IN passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at his home. Don was born on June 26, 1935 in West Lebanon, IN. He was the son of Elmer Dewey and Eleanor Marie (Reynolds) Lape. Don was a life long Warren County resident. He attended West Lebanon schools. Don married Araminta Kay Stevenson on June 11, 1955 in Shawnee Town, IL and she survives. Don worked construction with his dad and brother. He opened Lape Vault company in 1976 and operated it until 1997 Don was a member of the West Lebanon Cemetery board. He maintained the West Lebanon Cemetery since 1976 and was still mowing there this season with his son Jonathan. Don was a hard worker and enjoyed working with his hands. Don enjoyed life and listening to old country music. He liked collecting antique tractors. Surviving with his wife, Kay, are: 3 children, Monie (Rex) Cronk, Tammie (Doug) Britton, and Jonathan (Ronette) Lape, all of West Lebanon, IN; 7 grandchildren, Dawn (Brad) Ford, Jamie Cronk, Charity (Brad) Perigo, Logan (Beau) Bowlus, Alyssa Nixon, Blayne Lape, and Taylor Lape; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 2 sisters, Francee Lincicum, of West Lebanon, IN, and Sandra Johnson, of Williamsport, IN Don was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Stephanie Lape; 3 brothers, Charles Lape, Ivan Lape, and Hubert Lape; and 1 sister, Mayola King. Visitation will be held at Grady Funeral Home, 110 S High Street in West Lebanon, on Friday, January 6, 2023 from Noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Heather Handley officiating. Interment to follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to West Lebanon Church of the Nazarene.
