Donald "Don" Wayne Pearson

Donald “Don” Wayne Pearson, age 83 of Williamsport, IN died at 11:13 a.m. on Monday, April 19, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Don was born on January 17, 1938 in Williamsport, IN.  He was the son of Leonard N. and Goldie (Harshbarger) Pearson.  He was a 1956 graduate of Williamsport High School.  He was a lifelong resident of Williamsport. On February 21, 1964 he married Nancy L. Kennedy.  She preceded him in death on April 12, 2011. 

Don had served in the Indiana National Guard.  He worked as a pattern maker for Harrison Steel Casting Company in Attica, IN for over 40 years.  He owned and operated Pearson’s Pet Shop in Attica, IN and later in Williamsport, IN. Don was an accomplished wood carver, winning many awards, making many items for his family and friends, and was a member of the Kickapoo Karvers in Danville, IL.  He was also an avid train collector and had an impressive train layout. He also enjoyed taxidermy, painting, fishing, snowmobiling and was an avid archer.   He enjoyed flower gardening and collecting coins.

2 children, Kevin W. Pearson (Tammy) of Lafayette IN and Kelly S. Marks (Randy) of Attica, IN

2 sisters-in-law, Sally Brooks of Attica, IN and Linda Kennedy of Williamsport, IN

4 grandchildren, Aaron Pearson (Kelsey), Andrew Pearson (Shayna), Ashley Willett (Andrew), and Nolan Pearson

4 great-grandchildren, Kaleb Pearson, Aaliyah Pearson, Arianna Willett and Aelin Willett

Don was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Nancy.

Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport, IN on Saturday, April 24, 2021 from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor John Wilson officiating.  Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery with full military honors.  Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.  Online condolences may be made at www.gradyfuneralhome.com.
