Donald R. "Uncle Don" Miles

Donald R. “Uncle Don” Miles, age 87 of Williamsport, IN passed away at his residence on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 4:50 p.m. at his residence.

Don was born on August 5, 1933 in Hedrick, IN.  He was the son of Cecil and Mary (Johnson) Miles.  He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1951.  He resided a short time in Hoopeston, IL and Tampa, FL but lived most of his life in Warren County, IN.  Don served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict and had the privilege of taking an Honor Flight.  Don married Beverly J. Ritter Bratton on August 14, 2009 in Williamsport, IN.  She survives.

Don worked construction in Tampa, FL, came back to Harrison Steel Casting Co. in Attica, IN and later for his brother Robert Miles at Miles Farm Service in Pine Village, IN.  He was a member of the Hoopeston American Legion Post #384.  He was a hardworking man who loved to garden.  In his youth he enjoyed fast pitch softball and football.

Surviving with his wife, Beverly, are children, Joseph C. Miles of Denton, TX, and Pamela E. Miles (Moises Rodriguez) of Gillette, WY; step-children, Jackie Holtkamp (Rick) of Attica, IN and Mary Kay Bratton of Orlando, FL; 4 grandchildren, Rhiannon Suchor, Brandon Miles, Chance Miles, and Jessica Hambrock; 1 great-granddaughter, Charley Miles; many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Don was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Terri Lynn Neeman, son, Anthony Wayne Miles, brothers, Robert Miles and Bill Miles, and sisters, Alice Messing, Lois Mielke, Helen Davis, and Margaret Davis.

Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Warren County Community Foundation.
