Ellie Pearl (Spicer) Farrar, age 89 of West Lebanon, IN passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024.
Ellie was born on July 21, 1934 in Enterprise, Alabama. She was the daughter of Claude and Sarah Ruth (Thomas) Spicer. Ellie attended school in Sampson, Alabama. She lived in West Lebanon for most of her life. Ellie had been living in Williamsport with her daughter the past two years.
Ellie married Weslie Farrar Sr. on July 18, 1953 in Valdosta, Georgia. He preceded her in death on January 1, 2010. She worked as a bookkeeper at her and her husband’s business, Wes’s Garage & Wrecker service in West Lebanon.
Surviving are:
2 daughters, Wonda Gosser (Jeff) of West Lebanon, IN and Wenda Like (Guy) of Williamsport;
1 son, Warren Jeff Farrar (Aileen) of West Lebanon, IN;
Daughter-in-law, Vicki Farrar;
1 sister, Sarah Claudine Welch of Lake Wales, FL;
1 brother, Charles Robert Spicer of Alabama;
Grandchildren, Weslie Farrar III (Holy), Gene Lucas (Jessica), Anthony Lucas (Tara), KC Conkright (Jerry), Ryan White (Lisa), Kayla Howard (Clay), Krista Whitington (Cory), Tasha Feazel (Doug), Maranda Lester (Andy Strickler), Jacob Farrar (Makenna), and Ivhan Marabulas;
24 great-grandchildren;
10 great-great-grandchildren
Ellie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Weslie Farrar Jr.; and 2 sisters, Ada Bell Spicer and Mary Lancia.
The family would like to thank caretakers Sue Oaks and Brenda Stonebraker and Ellie’s friend Nancy Godwin.
A graveside service will be held at West Lebanon Cemetery on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor James Elrod officiating. Memorial contributions may be sent to the West Lebanon Trinity Presbyterian Church, PO Box 406, West Lebanon, IN 47991.
