Frances Ann "Fran" (Lorton) Larch

Frances Ann “Fran” (Lorton) Larch, age 87 of Lafayette, IN, died peacefully at her home on Thursday, December 30, 2021. Fran was born in Somerset, KY on May 5, 1934. She was the daughter of Leonard W. and Lola F. (Loveless) Lorton. She lived in Kentucky until moving to Boswell at age 10. Fran was a 1952 graduate of Boswell High School. On April 10, 1955, she married John A. Larch at the Boswell Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on December 10, 2013. The song “Lady Frances,” written by her husband John, a great musician, was inspired by his love for Frances. Fran was a loving homemaker. Before starting her family, she worked for Metropolitan Life Insurance in Lafayette. Once her children got older and left the home, she worked for Dr. Mount. Fran was a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Classic Car Club of America, Merry Misses Home Extension Club, and was a founding member of the Lafayette, Indiana Historic Auto Club. She enjoyed playing euchre with family and friends and traveling. Fran had a very generous spirit. Surviving are, Daughter, Lisa Webster (David) of Hope, IN; Son, John W. “Jack” Larch (Kathleen) of Fishers, IN; Beloved grandchildren, Bethany Webster Mize (Bryce), Haley Webster (fiancé: Warren Patrick), Katherine Larch (fiancé: Robert Mathioudakis), Elizabeth Larch, and John W. “Jack” Larch Jr.; Great-grandchildren, Gibson Mize and Rowan Mize; Sister-in-law, Mary Jane Lorton of Venice, FL; Brother-in-law, Don Ford of Lafayette, IN; Several nieces and a nephew Fran was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; sister, Barbara Ford and brother, Paul Lorton. A graveside celebration of life will be held on Monday, January 3, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Locust Grove Cemetery, 8362 N 600 W, Ambia, IN 47917 with Pastor Kurt Freeman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Christ United Methodist Church in Lafayette, Meals on Wheels, or a charity of choice.
