Garrett Eugene "JJ" Thomas

Garrett Eugene “JJ” Thomas, age 69 of Attica, IN, passed away at his residence on December 20, 2021 at 3:45 a.m. Garrett was born on July 26, 1952 in Muncie, IN. He was the son of James Clinton and Thelma Bernice (Cranfill) Slaven. Garrett was raised in Oneida, TN and attended Oneida Schools. He moved to the Attica area in 1973 and had resided there since. Garrett married Linda Kay Lockhart on March 20, 1976 at the Attica Christian Church and she survives. Garrett worked as a crane operator in the cleaning room at Harrison Steel Casting Company for over 40 years. He attended the Fountain Christian Church. Garrett enjoyed hunting and collecting knives and coins. Surviving with his wife, Linda, are, 3 children, Scott Weiser (Nicole) of Attica, IN, Tammy Darwish (William Jones) of Terre Haute, IN, and Jimmy Thomas of Frankfort, IN; 1 brother, Ronnie Thomas of Oneida, TN; 2 sisters, Cynthia Green of Hillsdale, MI and Margaret Butler of Kokomo, IN; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren Garrett was preceded in death by a son, Philip Thomas and 2 brothers, Jerry Thomas and John Thomas. Visitation will be held at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Tracy Acord officiating. Interment will follow at Dodson Cemetery near Danville, IL.
