Gerald "Jerry" Melvin Niccum

Gerald “Jerry” Melvin Niccum, age 74 of Boswell, IN, was reunited with the love of his life at 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, August 29, 2023 surrounded by his loving family. Jerry was born on April 18, 1949 in Lafayette, IN. He was the son of Ernest and Lucille (Lake) Niccum. Jerry attended Southwestern High School and graduated from Benton Central High School. Jerry married Katherine Geneva Hill on April 22, 1967 in Otterbein, IN and she preceded him in death on December 31, 2021. Jerry worked at Oscar Winski Company in Lafayette from 1992 until his retirement in 2017. He enjoyed gardening, tinkering and reading, especially Louis L’Amour books. Most of all, Jerry loved spending time with his family. Surviving are: Children, Katherine Jeri Girardier (Tim) of Ambia, IN, Vickie Michelle Zeller (Steve) of Oxford, IN, and Gerald “J.R.” Melvin Niccum Jr. (Sara) of Fowler, IN; Siblings, Dave Niccum of Grawn, MI, Mary Flynn of Lafayette, IN, Terry Niccum (Tina) of Lafayette, IN, and Cindy Shoffner (Richard) of Kokomo; 12 grandchildren, Katie Collins (Matt), Story Fenner (Rachel), Jerrette Girardier (Tori), Autumn Misner, Zach Niccum (Kortney), James Smith (Shauna), Abi Brummet (Austin), James Zeller (Maddie), Joe Niccum, Noah Smith, A.J. Groen, and Lane Groen; 7 great-grandchildren, Luke and Lizzie Collins, Emrie, Olivia, and Dean Niccum, Jacob Girardier, and Cohen Zeller Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Sunday, September 3, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Joel Whitehead and James Elrod officiating.
