Ilo Mae (Rush) Reeder, of rural Williamsport, IN, died at 9:50 a.m. on Sunday, January 7, 2018, as the result of injuries from a series of falls during her stay at a care facility. She was born August 17, 1923, in Lafayette, IN, to Vestal F. Rush and Hazel (Ogborn) Ewing. A graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School, she worked at the Lafayette telephone company until her marriage to Claude Reeder December 6, 1947. She remained a “city girl” through all her years on the farm. Much of her life was devoted to caring for her son with special needs but one of her favorite memories was of the time she and her girlfriend, Maxine Lanie, left their cares behind and flew to Florida for a winter vacation. She was a member of Jordan Chapel. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gary, and brother Ronald Rush. Surviving are a daughter Marcia Gallippi, son-in-law Robert Gallippi, grandson Gabriel Gallippi, brother Wayne (Clara) Warren, Montreal, MO, caring nephew and nieces Robert (Sandy) Rush, Rhoda (Wayne) Landes, Terri (Charlie) Steele, and Donna (Bruce) Roadruck of the Lafayette area. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 from 5:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be at the funeral home on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Charles B. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Jordan Cemetery in Pence, IN. Memorial contributions may be made to the donor’s charity of choice.
