Irish R. (Thomas) Bowen

Irish R. (Thomas) Bowen, age 67 of Williamsport, IN, died on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 3:35 p.m. at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN.

Irish was born in Lafayette, IN on July 16, 1956.  She was the daughter of James R. and Pauline E. (Pearson) Thomas.  Irish married Carl S. Bowen on December 10, 1994 in Lafayette, IN.  He preceded her in death on September 27, 2010.  She was a Warren County resident most of her life, living a short period in California.

Irish attended Ivy Tech later in life and was very close to receiving her Associates Degree.  She bartended and waitressed and also worked as an office manager in California and at Cam Industries in Lafayette as well as preparing taxes at H & R Block.  She loved her grandchildren and family, but her dogs, Rosie, Fancy, and Pawlie were her life.

2 children, Jamey E. Goins and Sherry L. Tharp

3 siblings, James Thomas, Christine Oxley (Jerry), and Patti Franscoviak (Rick)

9 Grandchildren Coty Hill, Amanda Bowen, Nicole Hill, Debbra Lee, Adrienne Mix (Tyler), Arisha Benge, Joanna Gutierrez, Chord Goins (Hayleigh), Logan Goins

8 Great-grandchildren Kaylie Smith, Kyler Smith, JoLynn Garrett, Willow Garrett, Azaria Benge, Anakin Gutierrez, Luna Goins, Atreus Goins

Irish was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Perry Thomas, sister-in-law, Sue Thomas, and children, Justin D. Painter and Kelly Painter.

Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport, IN, Thursday, June 13, 2024 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.  Services will be there in the chapel on Friday, June 14, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Cathy McCoy officiating.  Interment will follow at Jordan Cemetery, Pence, IN.  Memorial contributions may be made to Special Olympics of Fountain and Warren Counties (26 W. Gregory St., Williamsport, IN 47993).
