Jackie “Jack” Paul Gillum age 83 of West Lebanon, IN, passed away at 11:40 a.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born March 22, 1938, in Warren County, IN. He was the son of Paul and Mayola (Jack) Gillum. He attended school in West Lebanon, IN and Rossville, IL and lived in Warren County most of his life. Jack married Mitzi Turner Eades on July 25, 1981, and she survives. Jack worked at Berkley Davis and Tridan in Danville, IL and Tru-Flex in West Lebanon before opening Gillum Machine & Tool in 1978, which continues in business today. Jack loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles, taking his dog Abby for rides in his pickup and Slingshot, spending time with family and friends, and working around and making improvements to his home. Jack never did anything on a small scale and built a steel deck for his house that had to be set with a crane. Jack was ingenious in the design and fabrication of anything metal. Surviving with his wife of 40 years, Mitzi, are sons, Danny Gillum of West Lebanon, IN; Roger (Jennifer) Eades of West Lafayette, IN; and Eddie (Christina) Eades of Surprise, AZ; daughters, Kathy (Craig) Greenwood of Williamsport, IN; Connie (Richard) Sparks of Seguin, TX; and Kimberly (Mike) Bush of West Lebanon, IN. Jack is also survived by a sister, Marilou Castroll of Corpus Christi, TX. Jack was blessed with 18 grandchildren: Kelsey Gillum, Sam Gillum, Olivia Gillum, Charlie Gillum, Alexis Eades, Rauiri Eades, Cristian Rivera, Samantha Dominguez, Holly Hauser, Ethan Hauser, Chloe Hauser, Amanda Smith, Ashley (Justin) Bice, Cassandra Balsley, Zak Balsley, Jessica (Brian) Brenn, John (Arely) Elrod, Kayla (Clay) Howard; and 18 great-grandchildren: Ryleigh Gillum, Ryan Gillum, Brayden Dominguez, Carter Dominguez, Tayla Dominguez, Tyler Potter, Grace Smith, Claire Smith, Gavin Bice, Hannah Bice, Logan Bice, Maddalynn Baxter, Maddox Borzello, Sadie Balsley, Avery Brenn, Louie Rosario, Eelyn Howard, and Parker Howard. Jack was preceded in death by his parents, 2 great granddaughters, and beloved dog Emmy Lou. Visitation will be held at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor James Elrod officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. In honor of Jack, the family would like to support future machinists in the pursuit of their careers.
