Joseph J. Auxier

Joseph James Auxier, age 90 of Williamsport, IN died at 11:05 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.Joe was born on April 17, 1927 in Salyersville, KY. He married Ruby J. Edwards on February 25, 1946 in Paintsville, KY. She preceded him in death on July 1, 2002. Joe served in the US Army during World War II. He worked at Harrison Steel Casting Company for 20 years retiring in 1989. Joe was a member of the Montmorenci Baptist Church. Surviving are, children, Roberta Keith (Ivan) in Bloomingdale, IN, Betsy Land of Attica, IN, Barbara Lockard (Jim) of Lafayette, IN, Mary Cunningham of Pensacola, FL, Frank Auxier (Tina) of Lafayette, IN, Anne Astell (Mike) of West Lebanon, IN, Loretta Hamilton of Lafayette, IN, Evelyn Sallee (Dewayne) of Oxford, IN; 2 brothers and 1 sister; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.  Joe was preceded in death by his wife, 2 sons, Joseph James, Auxier, Jr. and Dallas Auxier, several brothers and sisters, 2 son-in-laws, Jim Hamilton and Dan Land, and 2 great-grandchildren, Bradley and Sabrina. Funeral service will be at Tippecanoe Memorial Garden Mausoleum on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor J. William Overbay officiating.
