Judith Kay "Judy" (Hamilton) Sewell

Judith Kay “Judy” (Hamilton) Sewell, age 80 of Williamsport, IN, passed away at 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport.

Judy was born on September 23, 1941 in Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of Perry Eugene and Eleanor Bernice (Ault) Hamilton. Judy was a graduate of Williamsport High School. She was a life-long Williamsport resident. Judy married Donald DeWayne Sewell on September 1, 1962 and he preceded her in death December 6, 2007.

Judy worked as a beautician. She also worked as a nurse’s aide at the Williamsport Community Hospital. Judy worked at Community Action in Williamsport. She co-owned the Tire Mart in Williamsport with her husband, Don, for many years. Judy also worked at the Review Republican newspaper.

Judy was previously a member of the Williamsport Christian Church and had been attending the West Lebanon Christian Church for many years. Judy enjoyed playing euchre and fishing. She loved flowers and animals, especially her dog, Teddy, and cat, Zoey.

Surviving are,

4 children, Cindi Askren (Bill) of Attica, IN, Darin Sewell of Lebanon, IN, Lori Sichts (Mike) of Attica, IN, and Mike “Pete” Sewell (Brigitte) of Williamsport, IN;

1 sister-in-law, Mitzi Hamilton Hogan of Rome City, IN;

3 nephews, Glen Sewell, Gary Sewell, and Denny Hamilton;

2 nieces, Vicki Sewell Chavis and Brooke Hamilton Cain;

11 grandchildren with 2 in Australia;

26 great-grandchildren with 9 in Australia;

2 great-grandchildren on the way

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Don; brother, Denny Hamilton; and brother-in-law Glen “Beano” Sewell.

Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport is handling services. Per Judy’s request, a celebration of life will be held for family and friends at Highland Cemetery on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Minister Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Paws N Claws.
