Linda L. (Chaffin) Lape

Linda L. (Chaffin) Lape, age 74 of West Lebanon, IN, passed away at 5:57 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

Linda was born on June 6, 1948 in Bowling Green, KY. She was the daughter of Robert J. and Ruth (Harris) Chaffin. Linda attended George Washington High School of Indianapolis. She later graduated from Ivy Tech School of Nursing in Lafayette as a LPN. Linda married Roger A. Lape on March 14, 1975 and he survives. Linda lived in the Indianapolis-Beech Grove area until she married and had resided in West Lebanon since.

Linda retired from Williamsport Nursing and rehabilitation. She served 2 years as the Queen Daughter of the Nile 2005 Zorah Shrine in Terre Haute. Linda was a dedicated caregiver to her son Nicholas for 24 years. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crocheting, and loved her dogs, Chi-Chi and Apollo.

Surviving with her husband, Roger, are,

1 step-daughter, Shelley Hudson (Mark) of Zionsville, IN;

1 sister, Lena M. Pennington (Leon) of Martinsville, IN;

2 brothers, Anthony W. Chaffin (Diana Freeman) of Beech Grove, IN and Robert E. Chaffin Jr. (Sherry Wolfe) of Paragon, IN;

1 brother-in-law, Albert Roseberry of Beech Grove, IN;

4 grandchildren, Ben Hudson, Ethan Hudson, Caroline Hudson, and Sarah Hudson;

Several nieces and nephews

Linda was preceded in death by her parents; son, Nicholas Allen Lape; 3 infant brothers, Bobby Ray Chaffin, Little Joe Chaffin, and Jimmie D. Chaffin; and sister, Ruth A. Roseberry.

Visitation will be at the West Lebanon Christian Church, 201 S Clinton St, West Lebanon, IN 47991, on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 from noon until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Kris Foust. Daughter of the Nile services will also be conducted. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Children.
