Lynn R. Kistler

Lynn R. Kistler, age 69 of Bemidji, MN died at 9:15 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.Lynn was born in Greensburg, IN on March 11, 1948. He was the son of Delbert and Bonnie (Hockersmith) Kistler. He graduated from Northwestern High School in 1966 and from Eastern IL University receiving his degree in social work. On September 8, 1973 he married Marie Joann Schlachter in Indianapolis, IN. She survives. Lynn served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He previously resided in Kokomo IN, Bloomington, IN and Lerna, IL and has resided in Bemidji Minnesota since 1984. Lynn worked as an addiction counselor. He enjoyed, golfing, fishing, camping, and canoeing and being with friends and family. He especially loved to spend time with his grandchildren. Lynn touched many lives and was loved by all. Surviving are, spouse, Marie Kistler of Bemidji, MN; father, Delbert Kistler of Kokomo, IN; children, Dawn M. Kistler Iannone (Basil V., Iannone III) of Gainesville, FL and Michael B. Kistler (Brandy L. ) of Concord, NC; siblings, David Kistler and Linda Kistler both of Kokomo, IN; and 5 grandchildren, Ann-Marie Iannone, Amrie Kistler, Julian Kistler, Michael Lynn Kistler, and Shawna Marie Kistler.  Lynn was preceded in death by his mother, Bonnie (Hockersmith) Kistler Services will be held at a later date.
