Marilyn Faye (Curts) Ringer, age 85 of rural Williamsport, IN, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 13, 2023, at Franciscan Health in Lafayette, IN. Marilyn was born on June 9, 1937 on her family’s farm near rural Corydon, IN. She was the daughter of Nolan and Opal (McCullum) Curts. Marilyn was a 1954 graduate of Corydon High School. She later attended Indiana University where she met and then married Dr. William Alfred Ringer on March 16, 1956 in Mooresville, IN and he survives. From 1962 until 1964 Marilyn lived on the KI Sawyer Air Force Base in Marquette, MI where her husband was stationed. They then moved to Attica, IN from 1964 until 1971 and have lived in the Kramer and rural Williamsport area since. Marilyn was a loving mother to six beautiful children. She worked for 10 years with her husband in his medical practice. Marilyn was a member of the West Lebanon Christian Church. She enjoyed reading, antiquing, flowers, plants and birds, ice cream, gospel music, searching/collecting Native American artifacts, painting, and pets including her special dogs and cats. Marilyn especially loved walking and jogging and was an inspiration to her many children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to be active and run. She enjoyed many card games, especially playing bridge and double deck pinochle. She loved her family and when a grandchild was born, she would travel to their home to help care for them when the family arrived home from the hospital. Surviving with her husband, Dr. William A. Ringer, are: 1 Daughter-in-law, Janet Ringer of Kent City, MI who was married to the late Dr. Tom Ringer; 5 children, Laurel Myers of Williamsport, IN, Jim Ringer (Marilyn) of Carmel, IN, Bill Ringer (Cindy) of Springfield, IL, Katie Tarter (Bob) of Barnesville, MN, Chris Ringer (Mary) of Cicero, IN, 5 brothers, Ralph Curts (Cheryl) of Corydon, IN, John Curts of Virginia Beach, VA, Dave Curts of Corydon, IN, Bill Curts of Spokane, WA, and Kenny Curts of Corydon, IN; 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren Marilyn was preceded in death by her eldest son, Dr. Tom Ringer and brother, Norman “Bud” Curts. There will be no visitation, but friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Friday, February 24, 2023, 6:00 pm at the West Lebanon Christian Church, 201 S Clinton St, West Lebanon, IN 47991 with Minister Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Beef House Restaurant, 16501 N IN 63, Covington, IN 47932 in the Oak Room.
