Mary was born, July 20, 1933, to Alfred and Christine Waldron in Independence. Upon the death of her mother, when she was three, she was raised by aunt and uncle, John and Katherine Adams in Rainsville, Indiana, and had her father in her life, as well. Her cousins, Doris Ransom, and Sharon Short became her siblings. She attended Pine Village School.
She Married Darrell Lee Reynolds on January 5, 1952 in the parsonage of Doug Dickey in Williamsport, IN. They had two children, Joe and Julie. They lived in Dayton, In, and later settled in WL, where they farmed and raised pigs. They owned and operated Darrell’s Garage, and Reynold’s Racing in West Lebanon. She was the resident cake baker, making hundreds of wedding and special occasion cakes, once making 52 sheet cakes to serve -1200 people at Quaker Oats, in Danville. She served on the West Lebanon Fun Days committee in the 80’s, organizing the gathering and placement of vendors and food wagons. She loved to sew, garden, cook and bake, play piano and draw. She knew everyone, and loved to visit, and was sharp about the details of events. She so looked forward to Spring, to work in her garden, and enjoy what surprise flowers Gary Cronkhite planted for her. She had longtime friends always looking after her, Mike Jackson, Gale Bryant, Marcy Johnson, and many others.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie (David) Jerome, of Mount Washington Ky, two grandchildren, Anthony (fiancé Madison) Jerome, and Sophie Jerome, many nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Jack. Her parents, husband Darrell, sister Doris Ransom, son Joe, and infant Anthony, preceded her in death.
Private family services will be held later at the National Cemetery in Danville, IL.
