Melanie Ann Swanson, age 60 of West Lafayette, IN, passed away at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN on November 14, 2021.

 

Melanie was born on October 29, 1961 in Danville, IL. She was the daughter of John McCord and Donna Kay (Worley) Swanson. Melanie graduated from Seeger High School in 1979. She was raised in Warren County and lived in the Pine Village area for many years before moving to West Lafayette, IN.

 

Melanie worked at the Williamsport Hospital as a nursing aide. She also worked at the Med Shed in Williamsport. Melanie was gifted in management and accounting and worked as an accounts manager at Tru Flex in West Lebanon and PFCU in Lafayette.

 

Melanie was a very talented knitter and crocheter, always creating unique pieces for loved ones and friends. Her great sense of humor and her giving spirit are hallmarks of a life well-lived, and well-loved.

 

Surviving are,

1 son, Zachary Swanson (Kimi) of West Lafayette, IN;

2 sisters, Melynda (Jim) Leak of Williamsport, IN and Melyssa Leak (Mike) of Ambia, IN;

1 sister-in-law, Shelby Cox and her husband Bill of Lafayette, IN;

1 grandson, Levi Swanson

 

Melanie was preceded in death by her parents and brother, John McCord Swanson Jr. (Mac).

 

Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, November 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Brenda McIntosh officiating. Interment will follow at Chenoweth Cemetery near the old county home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Illiana Antique Power Association or Paws N Claws.
