Melody Ann (Lake) Pearson

Melody Ann Pearson, age 77, passed away on March 12, 2025 in Lake Wales, FL.

Melody was born on February 3, 1948 in Danville, IL. She was the daughter of Melvin and Ruby Lake. Melody graduated from Danville High School and later received her nursing degree from Danville Area Community College Nursing Program. She married Charles Pearson on April 8, 1977. Melody passed just shy of their 48th wedding anniversary. In 1978 they welcomed their son Scott. Melody's love for Scott was boundless and she devoted herself to nurturing and supporting him throughout his life. They resided in Covington IN for many years before moving to Janesville, WI. They later retired to Lake Wales, FL.

Melody worked at many places over the years, including General Electric and General Motors. Nursing was her passion and she worked at Danville Care Nursing Home, Rock County Nursing Home, and Palm Gardens Nursing Home. She lived with her husband in Tower Woods Senior Community in Lake Wales, FL where she often helped those in the community with their healthcare needs.

Melody enjoyed bowling and gambling in her free time.

Surviving with her husband, Charles, are:

Step children, Wanda Gayler, Dana (Rob) Craft, and Natalia (Allen) Huff;

6 grandchildren, Megan (Alex) Jackson, Casey (Kelci) Craft, Jeremiah Gayler, Andrew (Riley) Huff, Nicole Huff, and Jorden (Austin) Vizenor;

7 great-grandchildren;

Siblings Gail Ray, Nancy Lake and Melvin (Mel) Lake

Melody was preceded in death by her son, Scott Pearson (August 9, 2020); parents; and brother-in-law Sam Ray.

Celebration of Life will be held at the West Lebanon Christian Church, West Lebanon, IN on April 12, 2025. Services will start at 2:00 p.m. Bruce Thornsbrough will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Warren County Community Foundation, 31 N Monroe St., Williamsport IN 47993, Susie Glaze Nursing Memorial Fund. Checks should be made payable to Warren County Community Foundation.
