Millard “Squeak” DeZarn, age 93 of Mellott, IN, passed away at 4:57 a.m. on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at his daughter’s residence in Valparaiso, surrounded by his loving family.
Millard was born on July 17, 1928 in Pence, IN. He was the son of Emery and Maggie (Burns) DeZarn. Millard attended Williamsport and Attica schools. He married Dixie Bell and they had 5 children together. She preceded him in death in 1990.
Millard worked in Hammond, IN as a heavy equipment operator for Standard Pipe Protection Division from 1952 until 1977. Millard worked at C&D Technologies in Attica, IN in the large power department from 1977 until his retirement in 1988.
Millard enjoyed rebuilding cars and tractors, hunting and trapping and mushroom hunting. He enjoyed playing poker and was known as a card shark. Millard also worked horses. He was an avid story-teller.

3 daughters, Cindy Tiffany of Valparaiso, IN, Gloria Boyle (John) of Williamsport, IN, and Mary DeZarn of Crawfordsville, IN;
2 sons, Jeff DeZarn (Becky) of Veedersburg, IN and Arnold DeZarn (Melissa) of Lakeland, FL;
1 sister, Bess Swift of Attica, IN;
9 grandchildren, Mike Odore, Justin Hoffa, Jessica Hoffa, Alex DeZarn, Joslynn Jimenez, Jerrid DeZarn, Jacob DeZarn, Kyle DeZarn, and Brooklynn DeZarn;
14 great-grandchildren
Millard was preceded in death by 3 sisters; 5 brothers; 1 grand-son, Brian Odore; and son-in-law, Randy Tiffany
Visitation will be held at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Friday, October 8, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until service time at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Jerry Badgley officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Paws N Claws or Dunes Hospice (Valparaiso). Inurnment will be held at a later date at Highland Cemetery.
