Rhonda Kay (Bush) Russum, age 60 of West Lebanon, IN passed away at 11:43 p.m. on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN with her sons by her side.
Rhonda was born on January 9, 1961 in Lafayette, IN. She was the daughter of Robert L. and Evelyn Mae (Murdock) Bush. She was a 1979 graduate of Seeger Memorial High School where she played basketball and volleyball. Rhonda was born and raised in Warren County and moved to Palm Bay, FL after high school. She returned to West Lebanon in 2002.
Rhonda married Danny Russum on April 16, 1982. He preceded her in death in 1985. She then married Louis Sonny Russum on June 14, 1986 and he preceded her in death in 1996. She worked for Hubner Seed in rural West Lebanon and while in Florida she also worked for Hubner Seed in Hypoluxo, FL. She was a member of the Tab Christian Church and the Palm Bay Christian Church. She was a member of the Warren County 4-H program. She loved doing crossword puzzles, fishing, and sun tanning on the beach.
Surviving are, 2 children, Louis Brandon Russum of West Lebanon, IN and Brian Joel Russum of Austin, TX; companion, Phil Astel of West Lebanon, IN; siblings, James C. Bush of Terre Haute, Richard E. Bush (Scott Prentice) of Jensen Beach, FL, Nathan Grubb (Amanda) of West Lebanon, Derrick Bush of Williamsport, Matt Bush (Kelly) of West Lebanon, and Alison Purcell (Tim Purcell) of West Lebanon; nieces & nephews, Jessica Warner, Jacob Bush, Joseph Bush, Caleigh Purcell, Leland Purcell, Ethan Buchanan, Clayton Buchanan, Christian Buchanan, Breanna Grubb, Derica Bush, Kenzie Perry, Dalton Bush, Kaydee Jo Bush, Jason Bush, and Kreeann Booher; and first cousins, Donna Bushong, C.J. Campbell, Linda Barten, Robert Knoy, and David Knoy.
Rhonda was preceded in death by her parents, Bob & Evelyn Bush, and her husbands.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Thursday, June 24, 2021 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be there on Friday, June 25, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rod Andrews officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made at American Heart Association. Online condolences may be made at www.gradyfuneralhome.com.
