Richard P. “Dick” Simonton age 73 of West Lebanon, IN passed away after a brief illness at 8:38 a.m. on Sunday February 18, 2018 at Williamsport Nursing & Rehab.Dick was born February 5, 1945 in Williamsport, IN. He was the son of Howard and Eula (Gross) Simonton. He lived most of his life in Warren County, IN living briefly in Wilmington, Ohio at Nike Army base while proudly serving his country. He returned to West Lebanon, IN and has resided there since 1968. He was a 1964 graduate of Seeger Memorial High School. Dick married Charlotte Livingston on June 10, 1967 in Wilmington OH. She preceded him in death on January 6, 1993. He later married Janet Kay Sutliff on July 6, 1995 in Munfordville, KY. She preceded him in death on April 10, 2011.Dick served in the United States Army and after his enlistment worked in Attica full time at Harrison Steel Casting Company and part time at Super Test gas station. He worked 36 years for Rea Magnet Wire in Lafayette, IN retiring in 2009. Dick was a member of Illiana Antique Car Club, enjoyed car shows, collecting antique model cars. He loved spending time with family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and his nieces & nephews. He is survived by his girlfriend, Beth Cutrell of West Lebanon, IN; 2 daughters, Sharon Simonton, of Attica, IN and Tina Bolin (Husband: Charlie) of Williamsport, IN; son, Tim Garrison of Kokomo, IN; 2 sisters, Patricia Babb of Glascow, KY, and Lameta Smart (Husband: Jim) of Attica, IN; 2 brothers, Charles Simonton of Veedersburg, IN and Walter Simonton of West Lebanon, IN; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Dick was preceded in death by his parents, son Roger Garrison, granddaughter, Tisha Marie Garrison, and son-n-law Eddie Fields. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Services will be there on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with grandson, Michael Garrison officiating. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery in West Lebanon with full military honors.
