Richard Lee Miles

Richard Lee Miles, age 70 of West Lebanon, IN, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2020 at his residence.

Richard was born on July 31, 1950 in Danville, IL. He was the son of Billy Miles and June (DeBord) Miles. Richard lived in Warren County for most of his life, living briefly in Covington, IN. He graduated from Williamsport High School in 1968 and later attended Indiana State University where he studied journalism. Richard married Roberta “Bertie” Oteham and they later divorced.

Richard worked at Hyster in Danville, IL as a machinist for over 35 years. He loved fast cars and the sound of a loud engine was music to his ears. Richard loved boats and animals, especially his 4 dogs.

Surviving are,

1 son, Rich Miles (wife: Cindy) of San Diego, CA;

Michele Shanks (husband: Jason) of Covington, IN, whom he thought of as a daughter;

1 sister, Anne Vibbert (husband: Ray) of Henderson, KY;

1 grandson, Carson Miles

Richard was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Aaron Michael Miles.

A celebration of life will be held at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with his son, Rich Miles, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
