Shelly Joanne (Ehler) Best

Shelly Joanne (Ehler) Best, age 55 of Attica, IN, passed away at her home on December 4, 2024, after battling a sickness for the past 2-3 months. 

Shelly was born on July 15, 1969 in Lafayette, IN. She was the daughter of Peggy Ann (Garrett) Robinson. Shelly was a 1987 graduate of Attica High School. She married William “Bill” Best in Williamsport and they later divorced. 

Shelly resided in Attica for most of her life. She worked various jobs during her career, including jobs at Attica Junior- Senior High School and Harrison Steel Casting Company in Attica even though she had battled physical disabilities her entire life. 

Shelly was a member of the Attica Moose Lodge 1482 . She enjoyed fishing and being in the creek and cruising around Attica in her golf cart. More than anything, she loved her grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them. 

Surviving are:

1 daughter, Krissa Best (Aaron Allison) of Attica, IN;

1 son, Keaton Best of Attica, IN;

2 sisters, Stacey Gordon (husband: James) of Celebration, FL and Sherry Freeland (husband: Greg) of Attica, IN;

4 grandchildren, Gwynn Hislope, Ella Best, Mia Pineda Best, and Oaklee Allison;

Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and close friends

Shelly was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Robinson; step-father, Jim Robinson; maternal grandparents Howard & Libby Garrett; 2 uncles; and a cousin.

A Celebration of life will be held at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Tuesday, December 10, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Inurnment will be at Highland Cemetery.
