Walter Earl Johnson

Walter Earl Johnson, age 80 of Williamsport, IN, passed away at 11:55 a.m. on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. Walt was born in Williamsport, IN on July 9, 1941. He was the son of Herbert Verne and Laurena (Pugh) Johnson. Walt was a 1959 graduate of West Lebanon High School. He lived in Warren County for most of his life and resided in his Williamsport home for over 30 years. Walt married Sandra Ellen Lape on July 3, 1959 in Kentucky and she survives. Walt started his career at Harrison Steel Casting Company in Attica. He worked at Eli Lilly for over 30 years until his retirement in 1997. Walt loved raising and riding horses. He was passionate about his property, mowing, trail riding, and camping on it. Walt loved his dogs and cats. Surviving with his wife, Sandra, are, 2 sons, Mike Johnson of rural Williamsport, IN and Eric Johnson (Dawn) of Williamsport, IN; 1 daughter-in-law, Vicky Johnson of Lafayette, IN; 5 siblings, Nancy Burson of Mexico, MO, Clydene Johnson of Pensacola, FL, Debbie Wagner (Todd) of Williamsport, IN, John Johnson (Sandy) of Pensacola, FL, and Regina Ann Jones (Larry) of Lafayette, IN; 3 grandchildren, Linley, Brodie, and Landon; 5 great-grandchildren, Nichole, Harper, Sydney, Leah, and Charlie Walt was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Brian L. Johnson; and brother, Fred Johnson. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Sunday, February 6, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
