Wanda E. (Howard) Yates

Wanda E. (Howard) Yates, age 96 of West Lebanon, IN, passed away on Monday, May 8, 2023 at Autumn Trace Assisted Living in Attica. Wanda was born on June 8, 1926. She was the daughter Lawrence “Brandy” and Jessie (Lane) Howard. Wanda was a life long resident of West Lebanon. She was a 1944 graduate of West Lebanon High School. Wanda married Jerry K. Yates on April 3, 1946 in Williamsport, IN and he preceded her in death on May 3, 2009. Wanda was a homemaker. She retired from the West Lebanon Post Office as a postal clerk in 1986. Wanda was a member of the Trinity Presbyterian church. She enjoyed crocheting, taking care of her flower garden, and dogs. Wanda was a great baker and was known for her homemade angel food cake. Surviving are, 2 sons, Brian Yates (Pegi) of Lafayette, IN and Brice Yates (Stephanie) of rural Alvin, IL; 5 grandchildren, Lanie Hazlewood, Katie Yates, Jessica Davis (Tony), Kodi Vicari (Andy), and Kasi Graham (Cole); Several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a niece and nephew Wanda was preceded in death by her husband; parents; 2 sisters, Juanita Simpson and Wilma Sellers; and brother, Lowell Howard. The family would like to express their appreciation for the care provided by Autumn Trace and Elara Caring Hospice.
