William David "Dave" Kincade

William David “Dave” Kincade, age 70 of Williamsport, IN, passed away at home in his favorite bed on Saturday, November 23, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

 

Dave was born on September 23, 1954 in Indianapolis, IN. He was the son of William Arnold and Gloria Joan (Phelps) Kincade. Dave was a 1972 graduate of Seeger High School. He met Cheryl Lynn Knox in May 1976 and they later married at Rev. Grover William’s home wearing Busch Light t-shirts.

 

Dave lived in many places surrounding the Warren County area before meeting Cheryl. They both were proud to temporarily leave the area to reside in Round Rock, TX from 1986 until moving back to Williamsport in 1987, where they had settled and resided for the last 38 years.

 

Dave served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. After returning from military service, he worked as a machinist at Fairfield Manufacturing in Lafayette. Dave recently worked as a groundskeeper at Harrison Hills Country Club in Attica after retirement.

 

Dave was a golf enthusiast. He loved fiercely and would jump through hoops for anyone in need. He enjoyed coaching and umpiring softball throughout the years. He made an impact on everyone he met. He loved being a Dad and was incredibly proud of his two girls. Dave especially enjoyed spending time with his grandson Leo and his granddogs.

 

Surviving are:

Wife, Cheryl;

2 daughters, Erin Kincade (companion: Cody Kolger) of West Lafayette, IN and Alex Williams (husband: Mitch) of Terre Haute, IN;

1 brother, Jeff Kincade (wife: Mary) of Attica, IN;

2 sisters, Sheryl Shoaf (husband: Jerry) of Williamsport, IN and Sandy Strickler of Lafayette, IN;

His mother-in-law, Virginia Knox, whom he thought of like a mother.

 

Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
